PINT’s top movies in 5 categories

by | June 12th, 2009

Here at PINT we do more than just work on cool technology, we also watch movies about it. Some are good, some are bad… but I took a poll, aggregated a few things and came up with this list of PINT’s favorites in each category.

We love this stuff and so we cheer when it’s done right, and laugh when it isn’t, but enjoy them all.
(because, after all, it’s a movie!)

Movies that inspired us
We’re better consultants for it

  • American Psycho
  • October Sky
He defied the odds and ended up working for NASA. Pass the Kleenex.
  • Toy Story
I remember watching that movie and thinking the whole time, how did they do that…
  • Anger Management

Oh no he didn’t!
You’d need a back-door in your head to believe anything in these thrillers

  • Christian Bale in Terminator Salvation
  • William Lee Scott in Gone in 60 Seconds
  • Jeremy Northam in The Net

Honorable mentions

  • Antitrust
  • Fred Savage in The Wizard
    “It’s more than a game… it’s the chance of a lifetime”
  • The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3
“Let’s talk about what’s really interesting in “The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3,” which is the question of Wi-Fi and cellphone reception in the New York subway. Because if you could actually get the kind of signal down there that people get in this movie, life in Gotham would be more awesome and terrible than it is already. My fellow glassy-eyed robots and I would just ride around all day and night in an electronic stupor, from Van Cortlandt Park to Coney Island and back again, forgetting where we had gotten on and were supposed to get off, downloading pointless apps and videotexting each other and watching PowerPoint presentations and 18-hour-old snippets of Stephen Colbert monologues under that horrible blue-white lighting.”

  • Thomas

Getting on this list is quite an honor especially beating J.P. …(robot voice) he’s a geenius

  • The chick from 24 takes the cake IMO.

Here’s another “Oh no he didn’t” moment:
Any person who has ever said the word “Enhance” in any movie ever made.
